Fifty years ago today, the first 9-1-1 call was placed in the town of Haleyville, Alabama. It was basic 9-1-1 back then, and technology has changed immensely to today where 9-1-1 calls research a database of callers, accepts wireless calls and text messages, and interfaces with geographical information systems. We’ve come a long way in 50 years!
