Each year, dispatchers take the opportunity to give back to the community with their “Beyond the Console” project which was started over 15 years ago. Many families have been helped at Christmas through the years.
This year, a Quartermania event was held to raise money for the project. Dispatchers decided to distribute the money through “random acts of kindness”. Riding with Sheriff’s Deputies, dispatchers gave out over $1300 in $50 bills to random motorists!
Thanks to Watch Supervisor Sandy Dvorak, Deputy Director Marcie Bristor, and all the dispatchers who contributed time and effort to the project. And thanks to all who participated in the Quartermania event, both vendors and attendees, which was instrumental in raising needed funds.
